FCPS Cares is an opportunity for parents, staff, and community members to recognize FCPS employees for going above and beyond to help others and show they care. We invite you to submit your story so we can all acknowledge the good work of FCPS employees.

Business and Community Partnerships

The Business and Community Partnerships office’s primary functions are to recruit and supports Ignite Partnerships, serve as a liaison to local Chambers of Commerce and other community organizations, help lead the annual Collect for Kids school supply drive, manage the FCPS Donations Portal for donated goods, and promote the Savings for Staff merchant discount program.

In the last decade, the Business & Community Partnerships team has helped secure over ten million dollars in donations of money and valued goods through partnerships and direct donations, not including the value of volunteer hours contributed by partners and mentors.

Volunteers 

Deer Park has a supportive volunteer program. Parents and community members are invited to participate. Volunteers typically contribute one or two hours a week working with students, helping in the library, helping with art project, performing clerical jobs, preparing instructional materials or working on PTA projects. All volunteers must meet screening requirements and agree to our confidentiality policy. Younger siblings may not accompany the parent volunteer.

To assist volunteers with their various projects, events, and activities that foster and encourage student participation and achievement, Deer Park is equipped with a full-service Production Center. Through the coordinated efforts of our volunteers, the center provides the valued support to meet the educational needs of all grade levels. We encourage our parents to share their time in the Production Center, as well as within the classrooms.

We appreciate "at home" help and use an envelope system and student couriers to facilitate getting materials to the volunteer and back to school again. A staff member and PTA Volunteer Coordinator coordinate volunteer efforts and support the work of volunteers with additional training or assistance as needed. We need you and appreciate your contribution of time and talent that multiplies what together we can do for children. To offer your help, please contact the school office or PTA President.
