Dear Deer Park Family,
As the year draws to a close, I want to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for your continued support and partnership. It has been an incredible year filled with learning, growth, and community.
I hope this winter break brings you joy, laughter, and cherished moments with loved ones. Whether you're cozying up with a good book, exploring the winter wonderland, or simply relaxing, may this time be filled with peace and happiness.

2025-2026 Dual Lanuage Immersion (DLI) Program Information
All rising kindergarten and first grade students who live in Fairfax County may enter a lottery to participate in Dual Language Immersion (DLI) programs. In DLI programs, students are learning elementary content in two languages with students spending half of the day learning in either language. English Language Arts and Social Studies are taught in English. Math, Science, Health, and Target Language Arts are taught in another language.

"We Choose Kindness"
Deer Park will be selling Westfield Pyramid “We Choose Kindness” shirts for one week only when we return in January.
Order forms will go home in Thursday folders on Thursday, 1/9/25, and are due on Thursday, 1/16/25. Shirts are $10. Shirts will be delivered in time for Kindness Week in February.

Free Library Card
Did you know that children who are read to at home have a higher success rate at school?
Fairfax County public library cards are free to all Fairfax County residents.
You have access to 23 different library branches with thousands of books to choose from
Your child can have their very own library card!
- Get an application from the Deer Park Library (English or Spanish available)
- Fill it out and return it to Mrs. Farfan in the Deer Park library.
- Mrs. Farfan will verify your address and submit your application.
- When your new library card is available, Mrs. Farfan will present your card to you!

The Cheer-IT and Spir-IT team is NEW to Deer Park . It is open to everyone, not just girls! The team will be cheering Deer Park Staff to victory at the Annual March Staff Basketball Game with Coates Elementary in March.

Girl Scouts
Attention Kindergarten Parents!
Are you interested in joining your child(ren) up for Girl Scouts? We have a new Deer Park Kindergarten troop formed that meets Thursday at 6pm, twice a month at Deer Park Elementary. OTA Summer Camp Pass
Overtime Athletics Summer Camp Pass is back to allow you the MOST flexibility and LOWEST prices that you can find in the Northern Virginia Camp scene! Just choose how many weeks of camp you would like to join us for this summer and reserve your spot today. These can be used for any of our traditional day camps (and you don’t even have to choose just one!). All Families will receive an email from the OTA Team in February for final week/location selection. Any Add-ons may be purchased at this point.
